Food industry
Inositol is a kind of "bioactive element" that participates in the metabolism of the body. It has multiple functions such as immunity, prevention and treatment of certain diseases. In the fermentation and food industry, it can be used to cultivate a variety of bacteria and promote yeast If growth and higher animals lack inositol, they will experience growth stagnation and hair loss. The human body’s daily demand for inositol is 1-2g. Many health drinks and children’s foods contain trace amounts of inositol.
Inositol is also a growth factor for certain microorganisms in the intestines. When other vitamins are lacking, it can stimulate the vitamin-deficient microorganisms to synthesize vitamins.
Feed industry
Fish and aquatic animals, rare birds, fur animals, ornamental cats, dogs and other rare birds and exotic animals need to be supplemented with inositol. In prawn and fish feed, inositol is usually added at 300-500 mg/kg. Swiss Roche Pharmaceuticals recommends 1000 mg/kg for fish and salmon feed, and 150 mg/kg for eel and carp, otherwise Inositol deficiency will appear.
